The podcast player that keeps your listening to itself

UnumPod is a native iOS podcast app with a liquid-glass player, synced transcripts, bookmarks, smart downloads, and full OPML portability. No account. No tracking. No lock-in.

Beautifully native

Built in SwiftUI with a liquid-glass design — translucent layers, real-time blur, springy motion, and haptics. Each show's artwork tints its pages and the player.

Genuinely private

No account exists to create. Subscriptions, positions, bookmarks, and notes live on your device — and export as standard OPML whenever you want.

Power without clutter

Transcripts, chapters, folders, tags, and download rules — behind an Advanced Mode toggle, so the app stays simple until you ask for more.

Already getting better

The first update landed alongside the App Store launch.

Smarter search

Search now blends three directories — Apple, PodcastIndex, and the fyyd community index — and ranks by cross-directory consensus. Or skip search entirely: paste an Apple Podcasts link or a raw RSS address and jump straight to the show. PodcastIndex now works out of the box, no key required.

Synced transcripts Beta

Podcasting 2.0 transcripts, live: the current line highlights as the host speaks, the view auto-scrolls with playback, and tapping any line seeks straight to it. An Advanced Features (BETA) toggle.

Live Radio Beta

A whole Radio tab behind Advanced Features: the open Radio Browser directory, live streams with now-playing titles, auto-reconnect, favorites, and AirPlay. Plus, for the terminally curious — an ASCII Art theme with text-drawn artwork and CRT scanlines.

See it for yourself

Serious listening tools, standard

No feature tiers, no "premium unlock" for basics. The full toolkit ships in the box.

Downloads that behave like a manager

  • Auto-download rules per show with keep-newest-N retention
  • Storage usage with per-show breakdown and delete
  • Live transfers with cancel; failed downloads retry
  • Wi-Fi-only mode and auto-delete after played

A library that scales with you

  • Paste an Apple Podcasts link or RSS address to add any show directly
  • Playlists, favorites, and a persistent reorderable queue
  • Advanced Mode unlocks folders and per-show tags

Your subscriptions are a text file, not a hostage.

No account. No tracking. No lock-in.

Most podcast apps are a service you log into. UnumPod is software you own the output of.

What most podcast apps doWhat UnumPod does
Require an accountNo account exists to create
Sync your listening to their serversKeeps positions, notes, and bookmarks on your device
Analyze your listening for ads and recommendationsDoesn't track listening at all
Hold subscriptions in a proprietary siloAuto-backs up standard OPML to your own iCloud Drive
Store third-party keys on their backendKeeps your optional PodcastIndex key in the iOS Keychain

Searching a directory and streaming an episode talk to those services directly — UnumPod adds no accounts, analytics, or tracking of its own. Ships with an Apple privacy manifest, and its App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected."

The short answers

Is UnumPod free?

Yes — free on the App Store, with every feature included. No tiers, no ads, no account.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account system. Install it and press play.

Can I bring my subscriptions from another app?

Yes — import OPML from any podcast app. Export (and auto-back-up) the same way, so you're never locked in.

Does it show transcripts?

Yes, when a show publishes them via the podcast namespace — text, VTT, SRT, or HTML formats.

What is Advanced Mode?

A toggle that reveals power features — folders, tags, auto-download and auto-delete rules — so the default experience stays simple.

Which devices?

iPhone and iPad (iOS/iPadOS 18 or later), Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 15+), and Apple Vision Pro. CarPlay, Apple Watch, and Apple TV are on the roadmap.

Press play, not accept-all

UnumPod is listening software that answers to you — and nobody else. It's free, and there's no account standing between you and your first episode.
