UnumRead: an open book with three audio bars

Your words, at your pace.

A personal library you can listen to. Turn your notes and documents into spoken English, with voices that run on your device.

Currently in development. Requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later.

Bring your notes.
Choose your voice.

A reading routine that fits your day.

Six English voices

Alba is the default voice. Explore six English voices and adjust your pace. All six voices are included with the app, without a separate voice download.

On-device speech

Speech is generated on your device. Imported copies stay in your local library, and UnumRead does not upload document text to a speech service.

Pick up where you left off

Follow the highlighted sentence and return to your saved place. Reading positions stay in your local library on this device.

One listening experience.

Both plans include unlimited listening without app-imposed word, minute, or document-count quotas. Device storage and safe import limits still apply.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation, and renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. No free trial is included.

A little help along the way.

How do I import from Google Drive?

Install the Google Drive app and sign in. In Apple’s Files app, open Browse, choose the menu button, tap Edit, enable Google Drive, and tap Done. In UnumRead, choose Import, then Google Drive via Files. Your account is managed by Google’s app.

Export Google Docs as DOCX or TXT and Google Slides as PPTX before importing. Sharing links and Google shortcut files cannot be imported as documents.

Which documents can I listen to?

The current build imports TXT, HTML, DOCX, PPTX, ODT, ODP, and text-based PDF documents. PDF support is limited to text-based documents. Scanned PDFs are not supported. No OCR is included.

Images and diagrams are not described. Review Import notes for layout or missing-page warnings. DOC, PPT, Pages, Keynote, and PostScript support is still being completed; these formats are not supported by the current build.

Files are limited to 50 MB each, with additional safety limits for page count and extracted content. An oversized or unsupported file produces an explanation rather than silently losing text.

Why does UnumRead prepare voices when I open it?

Pocket TTS uses approximately 328 MB of voice files included with the app. UnumRead loads them on your device when you open it; no separate download is needed. You can cancel and retry preparation under Settings → More Information → Voice preparation.

Can I listen offline?

After importing a document and preparing the included voices, you can listen offline while your subscription access remains valid. Cloud imports, purchases, and subscription updates need a connection. Your document library and progress do not sync between devices in this version.

How do I restore or cancel my subscription?

In UnumRead, open Settings → Subscription. Choose Restore purchases to restore access using your Apple Account, or Manage subscription to review or cancel renewal. You can also manage subscriptions in your device’s Apple Account settings.

Removing UnumRead does not cancel a subscription. After cancellation, access continues through the paid period unless Apple refunds or revokes the purchase.

How do I remove a document?

Delete it from your UnumRead library. This removes the imported copy and reading progress on that device; it does not delete the original in Files or Google Drive. Your device’s system backup settings still apply.
