Unum Solutions provides UnumRead, an app for listening to your own documents. This policy explains what stays on your device and what information is involved when the app uses online services or you contact us.
Your documents stay on your device
UnumRead stores imported document copies, extracted text, reading positions, and voice/playback preferences locally. Document extraction and Pocket text-to-speech run on your device. UnumRead does not send your document text to Unum Solutions, a remote speech service, or a remote conversion service.
There is no UnumRead account and no document-library sync service in this version. Your device’s system backup settings may include local app data. Apple controls those backups under its own settings and policies. The bundled voice files are part of the installed app; they are not copies of your documents.
Files, iCloud, and Google Drive
You choose documents through Apple’s Files picker. If you use iCloud Drive or Google Drive, the selected provider retrieves the file under its own account and privacy settings. UnumRead does not ask for your Google password, store a Google sign-in token, or request access to your entire Drive. It receives the file you choose and stores a local copy.
Voices included with the app
All six Pocket voices and their model files are included with UnumRead. Preparation and speech run on your device. The app does not contact Hugging Face or another model hosting service to download voices, and it does not send your document text to those services.
Subscriptions and Apple services
Apple processes subscription purchases, payments, refunds, and subscription management. UnumRead uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to verify purchase and renewal information and determine whether listening access is active. Unum Solutions does not receive your payment card details. There is no separate UnumRead transaction server. Apple may provide its standard sales, financial, and app reports to Unum Solutions under Apple’s developer services.
Apple’s App Store, TestFlight, device analytics, and backups operate under Apple’s settings and privacy policy. Beta feedback or crash information you choose to share through TestFlight may be available to us through Apple.
Analytics and advertising
UnumRead does not include advertising, an analytics SDK, or an in-app cross-app tracking system. We do not sell your document content or use it to train a model. Cloud file providers and Apple handle their services under their own policies. Opening an external support or information link takes you to that website, whose privacy policy applies.

Support messages
If you email support@unumsol.com, we receive your email address and whatever information or attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and investigate problems. Please avoid sending private documents; use a non-sensitive example whenever possible.
Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. You can ask us to delete support information by contacting the same address. Our email service providers may process those messages to deliver and store email.
Your choices and deletion
Deleting a document in UnumRead removes its local imported copy and progress without deleting the original from the source provider. Deleting the app removes its local app data from that device, subject to Apple’s backup and restoration behavior. Manage cloud originals and backups through their respective providers. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; use your Apple Account subscription settings to cancel renewal.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information we hold, or to raise a concern with a data protection authority. Contact us to make a request. We cannot access or delete documents that exist only on your device.
Children and student use
UnumRead is a general-purpose personal document reader and is not offered as a children’s service. It does not create student profiles, school accounts, or advertising profiles. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to support can contact us to request its removal.
Changes and contact
